Borrowing Materials

Faculty & staff receive extended borrowing periods on most library materials: 3 months for books in the general collection and 4 weeks for music, videos and curriculum materials.

Syllabus Archive

The library maintains an archive of syllabi for classes taught at NU. Syllabi placed on Discovery are added to the archive automatically. Professors may also upload their syllabi manually.

Interlibrary Loan

Items not owned by Hurst Library can be requested from other libraries using the interlibrary loan service.

Library Liaisons

Library Liaisons provide library instruction, purchase materials to support the curriculum and keep faculty and students informed of new or updated library policies and programs

Library Impact Statement

New programs at NU must have a Library Impact Statement. Please contact your library liaison for help in completing the Library Impact Statement.
