Using Google Scholar to Find Articles at NU
Google Scholar is a search tool for scholarly literature. Google Scholar can be used to search for some of the articles available in journals that Northwest University subscribes to.
If you use Google Scholar while on the Northwest University campus, you will automatically see “Find at Northwest U” links next to article citations. This means that you have access to those articles in full-text from the NU Library.
To use this feature while off-campus, add Northwest University to your Google Scholar settings.
- Go to Google Scholar.
- Click on Settings at the top of the page.
- Click on Library links on the left side of the page.
- Search for Northwest University using the search box.
- Select Northwest University – Find at Northwest U.
- Click the Save button.
Google Scholar does not always know if a particular article is available through NU. If you do not see a “Find at Northwest U” link next to an article you want, use Journal Title Search to check.
Go to the library homepage, click on the arrow to the left of the main search box, and choose the Articles tab, then Journal Title Search. Search for the title of the journal that the article was published in, then check to see if the date range for our full-text access include the article you are looking for.
