The NU Library has a subscription to the New York Times which includes free access to nytimes.com and apps for Android and iOS tablets and smartphones for all current students and employees.
Create an Account
- Access comes in the form of an Academic Pass which is valid for one year. Each year you will need to visit the link below to claim a new annual pass.
- Visit http://www.nytimes.com/Pass and create an account using your NU email address to get your pass.
- If you need help, this video walks you through the process of signing up: http://youtu.be/NROcngiF_uY
If you have an individual subscription to nytimes.com, you should be able to cancel that subscription and then follow the above signup process to get a free pass. You will not receive a refund for prepaid subscriptions.
Renew Your Subscription
You will not receive a renewal reminder when your academic pass expires. Your subscription will stop working without explanation. We recommend creating an annual Outlook reminder to renew your subscription. Visit http://www.nytimes.com/Pass to get a new pass.
Washington Post
The Washington Post does not have an option for libraries to subscribe, but rather offers a reduced cost subscription to anyone with a .edu email address.
